Mongo is looking for a freelance senior designer and illustrator to create detailed, client-facing storyboards that bring ideas to life. You’ll need to translate concepts into clear visuals, push creative boundaries, and help clients see the final vision before animation begins.

We’re looking for someone who is curious, a great listener, and confident in presenting ideas. You should be able to develop visuals from scratch or refine existing assets, always aiming to exceed expectations.

Responsibilities

• Create polished storyboards that clearly communicate the animation’s look and feel.

• Work closely with creative directors, animators, and clients to refine visual concepts.

• Present and discuss visual ideas with clients in a clear and professional way.

• Adapt to different styles and push creative boundaries beyond the brief.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in design, illustration, and storyboarding for motion design.

• Strong composition, storytelling, and visual communication skills.

• Ability to take and implement feedback with precision and creativity.

• Comfortable in client-facing discussions and presenting work.

• Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator & Figma

Requirements

• Experience: 3-5 years in motion design or animation with a strong focus on illustration and design.

• Illustration Skills: Exceptional proficiency in creating original illustrations that complement motion design.

• Design Expertise: Solid understanding of typography, composition, and visual storytelling.

• Motion Design Proficiency: Strong skills in 2D animation, motion graphics, and design-to-animation workflows.

• Attention to Detail: Meticulous in executing and refining creative work.

• Collaborative Attitude: Team player who thrives in a collaborative, feedback-rich environment.

• Adaptability: Ability to take on varied roles and challenges, adapting to project demands with creativity and technical skill.

Software Proficiency

• Advanced knowledge of Adobe After Effects and Illustrator.

• Strong proficiency in tools like Photoshop, Cinema 4D, or similar design software.

• Bonus for familiarity with plugins such as Trapcode Suite, Element 3D, or illustration-focused tools like Procreate.

• Experience with 3D animation, compositing, or tools like Redshift is a plus but not required.
